Steven G. Stubbs (SGS) has witnessed the blessings of our Lord throughout his life. Growing up in Maine as the only Deaf member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in his area, Steven discovered the faith community at Especially for Deaf Youth at 17. Inspired by Deaf role models, he dedicated himself to the Lord, serving a mission in Texas, New York, and Tennessee.

After graduating from Gallaudet University and the University of Maryland, Steven and his wife, whom he met at Especially for Deaf Youth, moved to Idaho, where their family of six grew to include three sons and three daughters, now adults. Steven has served in various Church callings, such as counselor to the branch president, elders quorum president, and group leader, while contributing to many Church projects.

Steven’s journey reflects faith, community, and service. He looks forward to connecting with everyone at the Deaf Symposium this summer.
