Background
Keith Ross Lauritzen was born in the small town of Driggs, Idaho. At 5 years old his family moved to Sugarhouse, Utah. He left home to serve a full time ASL mission in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Following his mission, he met his beautiful wife and love of his life, Dixie Dawson. They have been married for 45 wonderful years. Keith and Dixie are the parents of 5 children and have 17 grandchildren, two of whom are deaf. After 42 years of devoted work at the Post Office Keith retired to enjoy time with his family and time in service. He, Dixie, and his family have always enjoyed hiking, backpacking, camping, and being in nature. Keith loves the national parks and can often be found enjoying the natural beauty and serenity of these amazing places. He loves to hike but has all too often found himself in dangerous or even near-death type situations on his adventures. Fortunately, he has always had others around to help and is still with us today.
As his family will tell you Keith is a genuine kind hearted soul who loves the Lord. He exudes the love of our Savior, that same love that he has found in his life through years of faithful service. Everyone knows Keith because Keith cares to know everyone because he is fun-loving and kind.
Throughout his life Keith has been able to serve within the Church in many callings. He has served as ward clerk (twice), scoutmaster and committee, young men’s president, high council, and Bishop (twice). Keith was called as a sealer in the Jordan River, Utah temple in May 2022. He loves serving the Lord as he is serving both hearing and deaf patrons in his calling as a sealer.
