Background
Kate and Dustin Bassett have five children and live in Lehi, Utah.
Kate Bassett served a Deaf program mission in Riverside, California, and Lansing, Michigan. She earned a degree in Special Education from BYU and spent several years teaching resource classes in Utah and in California.
Kate has helped thousands of families navigate behavioral challenges and everyday parenting through her business, Family DoDots. She was a Parenting Contributor on Channel 2s Fresh Living show for five years as well as appeared several times on Channel 4’s Good Things Utah and Channel 5’s Studio 5.
She has taught marriage and parenting firesides at Deaf wards and workshops at large-scale, live events such as Pinners Conference. Kate has a passion for teaching and strengthening families. Kate loves jet skiing, kayaking, and traveling with her family.
Dustin Bassett served a Deaf program mission in Washington DC, Chicago, and New York. He is a licensed counselor/therapist (LCSW) and has had the privilege of working with the Deaf community for almost 20 years in his private counseling practice in Lehi, Utah. He also provides supervision for up-and-coming therapists.
In addition to his clinical work, Dustin is a nationally certified interpreter (NIC Master and NAD IV) and has been interpreting professionally since 1996. For the past 20 years, he has worked as a Corporate Interpreter with Sorenson Communications and periodically as a free-lance interpreter. He also mentors interpreters through Utah State University.
His real heart and passion in life is supporting and serving the Deaf community, both through mental health work, communication access and volunteering.
Dustin enjoys hammocking, woodturning and is learning how to weld.
