Gohar Nisar was born in Pakistan but raised in England. His native language is British Sign Language, but he still uses ASL.
Gohar joined the church when he was 23. He was searching for some light and was led to meet the missionaries – which were gifted to learn BSL in a few weeks.
In the Church, Gohar has served as an adult Sunday School teacher( for Hearing and Deaf members) many times. In addition, he has served in the Elders Quorum presidency( in hearing ward), Young Men’s President( in hearing ward), and Stake & Ward Deaf Coordinators.
He had visited America many times and made many great friends. He and his family moved to Utah last year- where his wife’s family lives.
Gohar has worked in many fields but has recently been a Managing Director for a regional charity (non-profit organization) in England. Gohar manages the charity’s funds, fundraising applications, projects, and staff. His professional training has been in film-making. He worked in that field for 30 years- from TV programs to independent films and corporate productions.”
