Konnichiwa! Risa Albretsen was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and is deaf. Growing up, she used Japanese Sign Language and has been involved in the church since birth. Risa served a mission in Anaheim, California, from 2018 to 2019, where she learned both English and ASL. In 2021, she moved to Utah to attend college, and in 2023, she married her loving husband. Risa has two deaf siblings, one hearing sibling, and hearing parents. She loves cooking Japanese food, enjoys listening to music while driving, and loves going to see musicals.
