Background
Mickelle is a dedicated advocate for the Deaf community and an experienced interpreter with years of experience bridging communication gaps through English and American Sign Language. Her journey began in an ASL class in Jr. High school then continued during her ASL Mission to Portland, Oregon, where she fell in love with the Deaf community—a connection that has shaped her career ever since.
As a supervisor for the ASL Hymnbook translation project, Mickelle plays a pivotal role in ensuring the beauty, doctrine, and spirit of hymns are made accessible to ASL users, fostering inclusion and understanding. Over the years, she has worked as an ASL interpreter in a diverse range of settings, from Higher Education and Legal proceedings to General Conference and even Cruise and Travel experiences.
Mickelle currently lives in Clearfield, Utah with her Husband, 10-year-old son, and dogs. If she’s not at home or working, she’s probably at a sports game cheering on her son in whatever sports season it is or volunteering with Guide Dogs for the Blind, training puppies.
