"Choosing Faith in Every Season"

Background

Born and raised in Payson, Utah, Anelise brings a unique and heartfelt perspective shaped by a lifetime of faith and personal growth. After falling ill in the first few years of life, she became hard of hearing and has since experienced progressive hearing loss. Despite the challenges of navigating a world not designed for hearing loss, her story is one of hope and healing.

As a child, traditional education felt like an uphill battle—often feeling lost in the classroom due to communication barriers. But today, as a homeschool Mom of two and founder of a homeschool co-op group, she has found a second chance to fall in love with learning. Through teaching her children, she’s discovering the wonder, depth, and joy of education for the very first time—and embracing it as a blessing.

English is her first language, and she and her children are now learning American Sign Language together, preparing for ASL to become her second language in the near future. Although she faces physical challenges due to rheumatoid arthritis—which limits the movement of her dominant hand—she continues learning to sign with determination.

She is happiest in the outdoors—hiking, swimming, camping, and adventuring with her family. She currently lives in Santa Clara, Utah with her husband and best friend, Malcolm Judd, and their two children.

Anelise brings authenticity, warmth, and spiritual insight to her message. She is honored to be part of this year’s Deaf Symposium and looks forward to sharing her heart and testimony with the community.
