I was diagnosed with bilateral profound hearing loss at birth. I learned ASL when I was 21 years old and served an ASL mission which included Fort Lauderdale, FL; SLC, UT; and Queens, NY; We as a family use ASL in the home. My son is deaf as well and attends school at Elizabeth Delong School for the Deaf. I have a Bachelors of Art in Deaf Studies and a Masters of Science in Natural Resource management. I am also a professor teaching ASL for Community Education at UVU. I am currently the YW President in the Lehi 44th Ward.
